He can’t colour the sounds that she’s making ‘cause her words are grey and they carry no weight
He gives her pencils and colours to make sense of a world that’s grey
He’s got so much to say
Letter’s scribed from the underside, but she won’t read them before all the ink fades away
It doesn’t help that she’s colour blind on his synesthesia days
Though he gave her colours she still coloured all their world in light grey
He gave her rainbows but she couldn’t see the spectrum he made
Purple, indigo and blue and green and blackened dark red
Are the colours of the words she wishes no one had said
His lips will turn to blue before she before she utters any words that may have more colour than grey
She builds a castle in the sky to hide from all the colours that may drain her delusion away
Curtains drawn and the sun is blocked to keep forgiving at bay and her karma all paid
No one hears the light that makes the sounds when the night blocks out the day
Sometimes feelings aren’t in black and white
Though he gave her colours she still coloured all their world in light grey
He gave her rainbows but she couldn’t see the spectrum he made
Purple, indigo and blue and green and blackened dark red
Are the colours of the words she wishes no one had said
She shaded all their world in grey
Can’t see the spectrum that he made
